I'm very much interested in finding information about my father, who served in WW2 as an officer with 1 HLI before going on to the Household Cavalry (Blues and Royals), 22 SAS, and MI5.
In particular, I remember as a child seeing a bust of him that I was told was created for a Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Scotland, if anyone has memory of this, or has information, I would be most grateful to receive it.
Incidentally, my father went on to become a Television Director / Producer with Rediffusion and on occasions was David Niven's director, who also hails from the HLI and which snippet I thought I should add for the historians of the regiment!
Very very kind regards to you all on this Armistice Day, 2016.
