I am looking for information about A. Fraser. (2872626)

He was serving in 1944 as a sergeant in the 1st battalion HLI,  71st Infantry brigade,  53rd Welch division.

He was one of the liberators of my home town (Duizel in the Netherlands) and was the only one killed during that liberation.

He was killed on the 20th of September 1944 (age 34) and buried there in a field grave with a white cross. Later his body was transferred to the cemetery in Bergen op Zoom in Holland.

I would like to know more about him. I have studied the liberation of Europe but cant find anything of small actions in the region where I live.

In my opinion may the sacrifice of Sergeant Fraser (and his family) not be forgotten and so I hope to find more information of this brave man.

Any information is welcome..

I still live in the area (south of  Holland) where the brave man of the 1st battalion HLI have fought in 1944 for my (our) freedom so if I can provide local information please let me know.

Kind regards,

John Geboers
